With extensive international and local winemaking experience, he is a passionate advocate for South African Merlot and has played a key role in promoting the variety's quality, recognition, and growth within the wine industry.

Sandra Lotz serves as the Administration Manager of Merlot SA, overseeing the organisation's day to day operations, member relations, communications, event coordination, and administrative functions. She plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of Merlot SA's initiatives, supporting members, managing stakeholder engagement, and helping deliver events, competitions, and educational programmes that promote South African Merlot.

With a distinguished career in South African winemaking, Renier van Deventer brings valuable technical expertise and industry leadership to Merlot SA. Having served as Head Winemaker and Cellarmaster at Leopard's Leap and now Cellarmaster at Ridgeback Wines, he is passionate about showcasing the quality and diversity of South African Merlot. Through judging, education, and industry collaboration, Renier helps advance Merlot SA's mission of championing one of South Africa's most expressive red wine varieties.

As a Committee Member of Merlot SA, Janette Hartshorne plays an active role in supporting the organisation's initiatives, partnerships, and promotional activities. Her commitment to the South African wine industry and enthusiasm for Merlot contribute to Merlot SA's ongoing efforts to raise awareness, encourage knowledge sharing, and celebrate the achievements of local producers and winemakers.

As a dedicated Committee Member of Merlot SA, Karlin Nel plays an active role in supporting the organisation's mission to elevate the profile of South African Merlot. Through industry engagement, event participation, and collaboration with producers and wine professionals, Karlin helps drive initiatives that celebrate excellence, encourage innovation, and strengthen awareness of Merlot within the South African wine industry.

As Social Media Coordinator for Merlot SA, Sharese Hunt is responsible for bringing the Merlot story to life across digital channels. Through creative content, community engagement, and strategic communication, she helps showcase the people, wines, events, and achievements that make South African Merlot a vibrant and growing category. Her work plays an important role in connecting the Merlot community and strengthening the organisation's online presence.

As Digital Marketing Lead for Merlot SA, Glen Hunt combines technical expertise and creative strategy to grow the organisation's digital presence. His responsibilities include website management, search engine optimisation, content development, email marketing, social media support, and performance reporting. Through innovative digital campaigns and audience engagement, Glen helps connect producers, members, and wine enthusiasts while supporting Merlot SA's mission to champion the quality and reputation of South African Merlot.
